This workshop will explore methods used by Tehran-based artist Salman Khoshroo.
The artist works with a large palette knife and thick globs of oil paint, depicting human bodies in different colorful shapes and close particular details that emerges from a certain distance. This style of painting is not polite. Salman’s thick paint is smeared, smudged, caked and slapped onto the picture plane with bold virtuosity.
Suitable for Beginners and experienced Oil / Acrylic painters.
Fee: $130, does not include Canvas.
You may bring your own or purchase on the day from Duthy Street Art, shop will be open during the workshop.
Either use your own silhouette as your form, a friend or family member.
You may choose to produce multiple smaller canvases or one large one… choice is yours.
Of course I will help you achieve a brilliant very satisfying result!
What to bring on the day;
Works best on a Large good quality canvas
If you are a beginner the girls at Duthy Street Art Supplies can set you up with a starter pack of acrylic or oil painting kit.
Oil painters you will to start your first layers with acrylic paint
Palette knifes (various sizes) paint brushes
Soft Rags and paper towels
Containers to put your paint in and for your brush water
Plastic bag (for your used paper towels and rags)
